Ana Nikolic Paul has experience litigating complex disputes at the trial and appellate levels across a broad range of areas, and has particular experience in antitrust, contractual, and telecommunications matters.  

Ana joined Kellogg Hansen as an associate in 2018.  Prior to joining the firm, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth M. Karas on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and to the Honorable Jay S. Bybee on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Ana graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she was Executive Editor for the Harvard Business Law Review and Supervising Editor for the Harvard Journal on Legislation.  She earned her undergraduate degree in international studies and economics from Emory University, graduating magna cum laude.

 

Representative Experience

  • In re Dealer Management Systems Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2817 (N.D. Ill.) – Representing multiple individual plaintiffs in a major antitrust litigation against the two leading providers of dealer management systems, CDK Global LLC and Reynolds & Reynolds Co.
  • Federal Trade Commission v. Meta Platforms, Inc., Mark Zuckerberg, and Within Unlimited, Inc., No. 3:22-cv-04325 (N.D. Cal. 2023) Defeated a request by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to preliminarily enjoin Meta’s acquisition of Within Unlimited, Inc.  After the district court ruled in favor of Meta, the FTC abandoned its parallel administrative complaint in the administrative home court.
  • In re Determination of Royalty Rates & Terms for Making & Distributing Phonorecords (“Phonorecords IV”), No. 21-CRB-0001-PR (2023-2027) – Represented Amazon on trial team in Copyright Royalty Board rate-setting proceeding to establish statutory mechanical-royalty rates for interactive music streaming.  Case resolved on eve of trial.
  • Represented the National Credit Union Administration as plaintiff in a series of lawsuits against major financial institutions serving as mortgage-backed securities trustees.
